What We Do Not Collect
We do not collect payment information, precise location data, or any personal information beyond what is listed above. Search logs are not linked to your user account.
How We Use Your Information
Your information is used solely to operate and improve Scrimper. Specifically:
- Your email is used for account authentication and password reset emails only
- Your favourite products are stored so you can view them with live prices when you log in
- Search logs help us understand which products are popular and whether our data sources are working correctly
- We do not use your data for marketing, advertising, or profiling
Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or share your personal information with any third parties. Your data stays on our servers and is not shared with Coles, Woolworths, or any other organisation.
The only exception is our email service provider, which processes password reset and account emails on our behalf.
Cookies
Scrimper uses essential cookies only to manage your login session and protect against cross-site request forgery (CSRF). We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party analytics cookies.
Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored on servers located in Australia. We use industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption and secure password hashing to protect your information.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your data — your favourites and account information are visible to you when logged in
- Delete your data — you can remove individual favourites at any time, or delete your entire account which permanently removes all your data from our servers
- Opt out — you can use Scrimper without creating an account; only anonymised search data will be collected
Account Deletion
You can delete your account at any time from your account settings. When you delete your account, all personal data including your email, name, and saved favourites will be permanently removed from our servers.
Children's Privacy
Scrimper is not directed at children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
